2024 Night Netball | Term 2

Everyone is Welcome!

Registrations close Sat 20th Apr 2024

We offer 3 night competitions – Tuesday Ladies, Tuesday Mens and Wednesday Mixed.  All competitions have a mixed skill level and are aimed at players interested in the social side of netball.  All players must be aged 14 and above.  All teams are required to register their team (and players) to our competitions through the Netball Connect platform – see links below.


Courts are outside with stadium covers, sheltered from rain and heat.

TUESDAY - LADIES TEAMS

When:  Tuesdays, 6:30 to 9:30 pm approx. TBD
Game Dates:  23rd April 2024 – 25th June 2024 (10 weeks, includes 1 week of finals)
Team Registration Fee:  $110-00 per team
Team Game Fee:  $80-00 per team per week

Notes for Ladies Team:
– Minimum Age:
 14 and above (a player must turn 14 before they can take the court)
Players must be registered by the Captain/Admin to the team via Netball Connect
   prior to the first game

WEDNESDAY - MIXED TEAMS

When:  Wednesdays, 6:30 to 9:30 pm approx. TBD
Game Dates:  24th April 2024 – 26th June 2024 (10 weeks, includes 1 week of finals)
Team Registration Fee:  $110-00 per team
Team Game Fee:  $80-00 per team per week

Notes for Mixed Teams:
Mixed teams can have a maximum of 3 males playing on court at any time per team,
   noting the male players must be spread across the court (1 x goaler, 1 x mid court,
   1 x defender)
Mixed teams can be all female
Minimum Age:  14 and above (a player must turn 14 before they can take the court)

Notes:

Players must be registered by the Captain/Admin to the team via Netball Connect
   
prior to the first game

TUESDAY - MENS TEAMS

We are currently seeking expression of interests for a mens competition with a 7 week season commencing during term 3.

Please send expression of interest through to nightnetball@lyvna.com.au.
Notes for Mens Teams:
– Minimum Age:
 14 and above (a player must turn 14 before they can take the court)

The game will be 6 players per side (instead of the traditional 7) and the netball rules will be the same
Players must be registered by the Captain/Admin to the team via Netball Connect
   prior to the first game

BEFORE I REGISTER A TEAM - WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

  • Minimum age - a player must turn 14 before they can take the court

  • Mixed teams can have a maximum of 3 males per team (1 x goaler, 1 x mid court, 1 x defender)

  • Mixed teams may be all female

  • Team registration fee is payable at time of registration on Netball Connect, it is a one off fee each season of $110 per team

  • Match payments are $80 per team each week, this fee must be finalised before the commencement of the match – you can pay by cash or EFTPOS

  • Forfeit fee - $80 (1st forfeit and $130 for 2nd + forfeit).  Please let us know as soon as possible if your need to forfeit so we can let the opposition know (ph Tracey 0437 445 818 for Tuesday and Sue 0412 430 499 for Wednesday)

HOW DO I REGISTER A TEAM?

  • If you need to add a player after registering your team, follow the below instructions:

Once you have completed this registration and as the team representative registering the team you can add additional players from your User Profile > Registration Tab. Select Team Registration and +Add Players. These added players will receive an email notification inviting them to register and pay. Once they have registered, they will automatically appear in the team list.

WE HAVE REGISTERED A TEAM – WHAT NOW?

  • Captain of each team to come to office window 10-15 minutes prior to the beginning of the game to complete the following:
    *  
    Complete weekly team payment
    *  Tick off players team sheet and add new players if required
    *  If a new player is to be added to the team, this player must be added in Netball Connect (and to the team sheet in the office),
       please come prepared with details of this new player (name, address, email, phone, DOB)

    *  Collect Bibs
    *  Collect scoresheet if you are listed as the home team

  • Players must wear matching attire i.e. same colour tops and bottoms (most teams choose black which is fine as there are different colour bibs per team).  Singlets, t-shirts, long sleeve tops, skirts, shorts, tights and leggings are all acceptable. No extra loose, revealing or hard clothing

  • Correct sports footwear must be worn

  • While bibs are provided, you are welcome to bring your own bibs

SCORING

  • Each team must supply a scorer each week

  • The scorer must be 14 years or older and can be the benched player

  • Home teams to collect the scoresheet when signing in

  • Home team scorers to score on the official scoresheet, away teams to sit with the official scorer

 

UMPIRES

  • Umpires will be provided by the competition

  • Umpires will provide a game ball at the start of each game

  • There will be an umpire convenor in attendance for both days

  • Umpire’s decision on acceptable clothing, nails, taping, gloves etc is final

  • Respect must be shown to all officials and opposition players at all times – there is zero tolerance for abuse either verbal or physical

  • Please remind ALL players and spectators that arguing or answering back to umpires is never ok.  If you have a serious concern with the umpires, please call for the manager immediately who will then come and attempt to address your issue

 

RULES FOR BOTH COMPETITIONS

  • All players must be registered to your team via the Netball Connect website prior to playing. If you need to add a player after registering your team, follow the below instructions:

  • A minimum of 5 players must take the court. One goal per minute will be awarded to the opposition until your team takes the court.  Forfeit will be called if your team cannot take the court by the start of the second quarter

  • Fixtures are available on our website www.lyvna.com.au or via the Netball Connect app

  • Please check the fixtures online each week – sometimes changes and regrading, will be made, so check-in regularly. We will endeavour to contact each team with changes, but it remains the team captain’s responsibility to monitor the fixture

  • Regrading may occur after round 2 or 3

  • If re-gradings occur, an email will be sent to the team captain but it is the responsibility of the team to monitor the fixture each week

  • No jewellery allowed and nails must be short and smooth. Tapping of nails is allowed but it must be with soft tape and cover from one side of the knuckle to the other; both ways. Approved netball gloves are acceptable

IF FINALS ARE PLAYED

  • Players must play a minimum of 2 games to qualify for finals (not all seasons will have finals depending on playing weeks in a season)
