SATURDAY COMPETITION

Our Saturday competition is our primary competition and is our most popular.  We have a number of local community clubs and school entities that enter this competition which caters for all age groups and mixed skill levels.  Games are played outdoors with a number of courts having stadium covers over them.  Please see below for more details:

Juniors:

  • 9 & Under Mixed (NetSetGO - GO Competition only)

  • 11 & Under Mixed

  • 13 & Under Mixed

  • 15 & Under Female

  • 17 & Under Female

Seniors:

  • Open Female

GENDER PARTICIPATION

  • LYVNA supports the Netball Victoria Gender Regulation in regard to male participation

  • For the mixed competitions up to and including the 13 & Under age groups, there can be no restrictions applied on the basis of gender.

GAME TIMES

  • First time slot starts at 9:00 am

  • Last time slots starts at 3:37 pm

  • There is a 6 minutes break  between game time slots (currently 15 minutes due to Covid)​

 

FORMAT

  • 4 quarters per game

  • 8 minute quarters for first two time slots (9 & Under and lower 11 & Under age groups)

  • 10 minute quarters for remaining time slots

  • Quarter time breaks are 1 minute

  • Half time break is 2 minutes

SECTIONS / GRADINGS

FINALS

  • Excludes GO Competition

  • Top four teams from each age group and section play off in the finals

  • Please refer to our bylaws for player eligibility (item numbers 19 and 20)

  • Our current affiliated clubs enter and manage their teams through this competition

SCORER

  • Each team must supply a scorer.

  • Scorers must stand together.

  • Home team scorer fills out the score sheet.

  • Away team scorer is responsible for the score board.

  • Any discrepancies between score sheet and score board, the score sheet takes precedence.

  • Umpires return the score sheet.
