ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

Netball is traditionally an outdoor / all weather sport and a decision whether to play or not or reschedule due to adverse weather, is made at the start of each round by the LYVNA committee on duty at the time.

Wet Weather

• If the committee members on duty deem that the weather conditions render the uncovered courts unsafe to play, games scheduled on ALL courts shall be rescheduled as games of two halves.  The following wet weather policy explains how this new system will work: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AvX4LxgFJij9goo7GtcOff_IToFf-A?e=TOwsH2

• Teams must attend the courts and report to the office before the scheduled start of their game. If a game has been rescheduled, teams will be notified of the rescheduling when they report to the office

• The decision as to whether a court is unsafe to play on and the decision to reschedule games for that reason shall be made round by round by the committee members on duty

• Games will not be rescheduled merely because it is raining. Rescheduling will only be considered where the weather conditions render the uncovered courts unsafe to play on

• Each round is assessed individually, and the safety of the courts and the weather conditions are assessed continuously

• We do play in rain

• We do not play in lightning

• We do not play in hail

• Note the following Bylaw - 13. Dress Code
  (h) Long sleeve tops may be worn under the dress/shirt in the registered colour
  (i) Participants in 9&U sections only may wear tracksuit pants or leggings in the registered colour

How do we know when it is safe to play in hot conditions?
